New work in Extremadura is on the cutting edge of missions. When a new church or mission is planted it is generally the first one in that community. There still remain hundreds of towns and villages in Extremadura without any Evangelical church. The Evangelical movement is very young in Extremadura relative to the age of their respective communities. Presently there are eighteen churches and missions in the Evangelical Council of Extremadura.
